On midweek evenings throughout the summer we offer the dedicated use of our gliding facilities for groups of 10 or more people to take a trial lesson and experience gliding at a bargain price of only £23 per person (£12 per flight for second flights.)
What to expect:
Each member of your party will have a flight in a two seat glider with a qualified instructor. The glider will be launched by winch and the flight will last for around 5 or 6 minutes and you will be encouraged to fly the glider yourself!
You should arrive at the gliding club as close to 6.00 pm as possible. Flying will start at around 6.30 pm and continue until everyone has flown or until dark. If time and daylight allows, second flights will be available for anyone that wishes to have another go.
The minimum number for any group is 10 people with a maximum of around 30 people however we may ask you to book smaller groups into our low season (April, May and September.) These numbers relate to the number of people actually flying (additional non-flying visitors are also welcome.)
What to wear:
Even at the height of Summer, an airfield can be an exposed and cool place so wear warm loose fitting clothing. (Tight skirts are very impractical when climbing into a glider!) Jeans, jumpers and trainers are the best. Bring a light waterproof too, just in case.
What happens if the weather is poor? If we have to cancel your evening or if only a few people fly due to bad weather then we can reschedule your visit for another date. We always keep Mondays vacant throughout the year to allow us to do this. We cannot fly if it is foggy, constant heavy rain or very strong winds.
Our clubhouse and bar will be open after all the flying has finished. We can also arrange for a professionally supplied BBQ (for around £10 per head.)
If you’re interested, please contact Mark using the button below. You can arrange a date and you’ll be asked to pay a £50 deposit. Please take a look at our Events Calendar for availability (we can take bookings for Wed, Thur, Fri evenings at 6pm between May and early September)
